Using flic instead of a microphone on a Jasper-like system for remote monitoring of patients and care seekers
Jasper is a SIRI open source alternative which may be used for remote monitoring and communication purposes, e.g. on a remote care context. I think flic would be awesome Instead of having a microphone, maybe in a 3-button panel with yellow, green and red according to priority.

A socket stripe that connects with Flic. Turn power on/off.
A socket stripe that connects with Flic, so that one can turn of the power for any specific thing, for instance, the entire house. If the flic is clicked once, then an amount of chosen socket stripes would turn on/off. If a flic is clicked twice, this would result in all socket stripes turning on/off. This could be at your bed, so you wouldnt have to go around and turn all the lights and machines off before you goto bed. Instead you can simply click the flic. This would also be very usefull for saving electricity!

With a dedicated tech support Flic on the side of Grandma's computer, you can help her quickly.
When Grandma pushes the Flic, it triggers a Wake on LAN event for her computer, turning it on in case she's turned it off. It then dials your phone number, connecting Grandma to her favourite IT…
