A flic as a doorbell
Stick one on my door and when someone comes to my house it notifies both my iPhone, iPad, iMac, etc that someone is at the door.

That way you wouldn't be coming in in the dark - and you wouldn't have to put up with ringing doorbell at any and every hour, only when you want it to!

I wrote a chrome desktop extension for this purpose:

It uses pushover.net to distribute messages and makes a strong visual alert on your desktop computer when someone pushes the Flic. Since there are no Flic API for desktop computers you still need to have your phone nearby.

Flic should be the doorbell of my house that calls me on my phone
(think the only thint that is needed is an inwall Case (best would be to use a "normal" electricity Case to screw flic inside). -

One push on the doorbell activates the above but with a linked phone you can also let people leave a message by pressing twice, activating the video for 60 seconds then uploading to your Dropbox and sending an Email

For those with smart homes you can flash light bulbs, pause music/video and play sound on chromecast.

When the Flic is pressed all devices currently on the WiFi network and with the right app will buzz, connecting to my doormounted camera (WiFi only phone with camera). If my phone is not on the WiFi network, use said camera to take a picture and send an IM via Hangouts while uploading the image to my Dropbox.

Install where to doorbell would be. When someone Flic's you get a text ... or flash smart lights ... or play a custom doorbell ring throughout the house ...
