Have flic run as a background service
Have flic run in the background so I the app doesn't need to be running. I tend to close my apps a lot to save battery life. When I want to use the flic button I have to launch the app first. At this point I'm already interfacing with the phone so it defeats the purpose of the button. Also, have an option to start after the phone is rebooted so its basically running as a service in the background and the app is just used to configure it.
I agree. I've set up a spare mobile with minimum features to use as controller when at home. I'll make sure that Flic only runs on that. Don't need Flic functionality when away from home
Seriously? An app has to be running on your phone for this to work? I was about to order, but I'm glad I read this first. I wanted to use this as part of a home automation setup, specifically for logging the sets I do when I workout, but I just assumed there was a native desktop/server app I could run...
