Switch light on for a certain time
During the night my daughter often ask for us to put a light on. So we push the flic button and a hue lamp switches on on 1% and then after 5-10 minutes she is fast a sleep. And so are we, and then the light keeps on until I wake up again.
I would like to place the flic button in her room so she can press the button, the lamp switches on on 1% and then after 10 minutes the lamp switches off automatically.
Is this possible?
7 votes[Changed to “started” because this is only available in the Android app]
Hi! This is possible with the Android Flic app! :) Here’s how to do it: When configuring the “click” you should add your first action, which is turning on the light. Then you can “chain” another action after that to turn off the light.
The important thing is to delay this action by clicking the little clock icon at the top and setting the time you’d like. For iOS at the moment this isn’t possible, unfortunately.

home assistant home
Home Assistant home automation smart hub integration. It would be great to be able to add flic as an input device into a home assistant server running on something like a raspberry pi 3. By adding an integration into home assistant you essentially get access to using your flic to automate about 450+ devices without your phone needing to be home to use it. An example automation could turn off all your lights in your house, turn on your bedroom light, turn off your tv, stereo and, lock your doors for when you're ready to go to bed.

Make Flic compatible with Apple Homekit
Make it compatible with Apple's Homekit to take advantage of older, existing home automation systems and their newly created Homekit bridges. (e.g. Insteon) This will greatly increase the number of devices it could control.

publishing the FLIC API so I can use it with Linux and gatttool as well
I do stuff with BTLE on Linux. I have written an interface to the TI SensorTAG so I can read out values. Would like to use Flic in a similar way. Just publish all the BTLE UUIDs etc.
109 votesGood news! With Flic 2 we will publish the communication protocol so that it can be connected to anything with BLE. https://flic.io/flic2

Use Flic as a Garage Door Remote interface WINK.
I use WINK and have Chamberlin Garage Door Opener. It would be great to have Flic in my car and open the garage door.
In my case I'm in a rental and one of the car remotes for garage is broken. Flic would solve this for me. :)

Trigger app shortcuts on Android (for all kinds of easy integration with other apps)
On Android the concept of "shortcuts" exists, which basically means deep-links or quick actions of other apps. An app can offer to create these shortcuts and place them on the home screen.
It is similar to triggering a custom intent, but easier to set up. Adding this feature would allow a lot of easy integrations with all kinds of other apps.
Some examples (depending on what apps you have installed): DropSync to files with dropbox, WhatsApp to open a specific conversation, the stock (or many other) music player to start a specific playlist, Greenify to hibernate all apps, sending a…
7 votesHey, have you tried the “Launch Shortcut” Action? It may not work on all devices, would be great if you could test it on your devices and let us know how it works for you.
